“landmand deserved a certain respect with the brush. I knew each hole had to feel as haunting as it did inspiring. There is no other place like it in golf. My paintings are created in a very similar way to how you’d play a round of golf: many tools in the bag, many looks around each hole. If the putter is the pencil, the driver is the big brush. I use watercolor, charcoal, acrylic, spray paint, pen & ink, pencil, Sharpie, and often times whatever beverage I’m sipping on to dilute my paints. Each painting is layered like a round of golf. I can recall certain strokes, the tough parts, the pure lines, and seeing it all come together like the most memorable round on a perfect day until it’s signed and finished. Landmand is truly an honor to paint. “Closing Time ” is ironically just the beginning…. I can’t imagine not completing this round.”- Rivard
